But I think, especially if Democrats take the House back, both Murkowski and Susan Collins would be best served becoming independents and caucusing with the Democrats. Maine is a blue state, and under Alaska's new system Murkowski will always end up running against someone more conservative in the general election anyway.

I'll say this in a restrained way :) Since both of those men seem to be so deeply uncomfortable living in the 21st century, and even in the 20th century, it is merciful to wish them a short remaining life in this world, and then they can go on to wherever they think they go next.

Alito and Thomas are horrible. Relieved for now, but now we have to wait and see how the appeal process plays out.
