It's that they don't know. And, it's that they just don't care. In George Lakoff's "Don't Think of An Elephant," he describes a great framework of understanding the republican hierarchy and patriarchy. Women are actually not last on the list.
I’ve been having conversations with my daughters about all this. Fortunately they’re both in good relationships and pregnancy isn’t in their futures. (It’s their choice duh). I told the first born I remember realizing at some point carrying her that there was no going back and that anything could happen. Pregnancy is wonderful, scary and daunting. I had to have a c-section with my second as she was breach. It was not fun.
I suppose the biological and medical ignorance is to be expected from a party who rejects science in favor of 'faith' (i.e. their imaginations). The comments on rape are more disturbing. It seems that conservatives understand rape not as about consent but as about degree of violence employed. If they really think most of what we call rape isn't that bad then that would explain a lot of the resistance to progress on sexual assault and sexual harassment. And the rest is explained by the persistent insistence that women lie about these things. It's horrifically toxic and grotesque.
Okay, thanks Dave Abbott et.al. I think I understand everything now. It’s terrible how those forced sex education classes lied to us, causing a lifetime of confusion and wrong thoughts.
So this is it: the woman has essentially nothing to do with the creation of life. She is just happy to provide a ball of juices for the sperm to roll around in while it grows bigger, mainly spending its 52 weeks pondering its future while stroking its face and masturbating.
If the woman isn’t happy to participate in this process she can always go to emergency and have the ball cleaned out with a rape kit. Or maybe she is happy except when it becomes uncomfortable and then the fetus can always be taken out and inserted somewhere else. No women ever die during this time, that’s just a lie woman tell to get sympathy or because they are forever dithering and changing their minds and being overly dramatic.
Then when the sperm has grown too big for the ball it decides to come out. But 52 weeks is such a long time, so the father may have wandered off and the woman enjoyed the process so much she now gladly spends the next eighteen or so years of her life feeding, clothing, housing, and educating his child while working two or three minimum wage jobs to be able to afford it. And though she may insist that she can only afford to raise one child, men have ways of convincing her she is mistaken and then she is happy to go through it all again.
Thanks everyone for correcting my misguided notions that women are entitled to joy.

Smart to put this together. Scares the shit out of me that these idiots make decisions and disseminate such irresponsible bullshit. The saying “you can’t make this shit up” has taken on new meaning. Thank you for all you are doing.
Unfucking believable.
Just read this and want to vomit. The level of willful ignorance is astounding. And we elect these people to make our laws and policies?
Just re-read this. Jessica, I hope you update this periodically, the shit just keeps coming.
This is the sort material one reads to laugh while having an aneurysm.

Thank you. I'm keeping it and sharing it. I'm considering the comment. "Apparently some babies get born without brains."

No words. Just…none. (And also lots and lots of terrible ones)
I’m simultaneously nauseated, incredulous, despairing, furious, and speechless. In no particular order.
very much same

LOL I needed this, Rosalind!
This is great! So glad you cleared up my mis-“conceptions” about pregnancy. 😂😂
Haha. Great, I wish I’d said that.

Good fucking gravy there a lot of men who want to find a way to be able to rape women with impunity.
Right?? Like way to tell on yourselves
Thank you!! The old saying goes" stupid is forever "
