My 55 yo friend who is having postmenopausal bleeding just called me from CVS in TX bc they refused to fill her Rx for misoprostol (used to open the cervix) bc she couldn’t prove she wasn’t having an abortion. She is having surgery in 2 days. This is what total abortion bans do.
That’s horrible! I’m from NC and I knew that you can have someone accompany you if you need assistance because of a disability but I had no idea the state allowed abusive husbands to legally disenfranchise their wives.
According to state board of elections - “Spouses can vote in the same voting booth, if both request to do so. State law allows spouses to choose to vote together in the same voting booth. Poll workers should not encourage this practice; it should be up to both voters to decide.” I can imagine this provision is often used to enable people to help each other, but in the current circumstances I can imagine it being misused.
Abortion issue yes, but we cannot discount women who want to see a woman president in their lifetime... in 2008 when Hillary was screwed by the Democratic party in the primary, the saddest and the most disappointed were the older women - it was heartbreaking to watch. Here's what I find most eye-popping in Ann Selzer's Iowa poll: Harris is winning women 65+ by 35 points. Biden won them by 13 in 2020. Trump won them by 9 in 2016. It's a huge Granny Gap!
I saw Kamala on SNL last night. She is so amazing. I can hardly let myself imagine she'll be President after all the trauma of Trump. But it would be beyond fantastic. I hope and I pray.
