Though with the common use of medication abortion in states where abortion is illegal, it is unfortunately possible that she may succumb to a complication of that process at home without the support she needs and too fearful to visit the emergency department. This actually seems the most likely scenario to me.
I remember that picture, I went online to find it after we found out how Republicans feel about women. It was gone. I don't know when it was removed. I suppose the women-haters will do everything they can to keep it from reappearing. I hope someone out there gets it online with a message along the lines of, "This is how women-haters want women to end their lives if they aren't ladies and good. Those who are raped and get pregnant will just have to deal with it.
I may be among the few that saw this coming. On Election Day in 2016, I said to a friend that one of the things that that Mango Menace would do would be to end Roe v. Wade. I was told that I was being hysterical and overreacting...........................
You're among the few of us men :) Women knew, some of them tried to tell us, and yes they were called hysterical. Which is common, and is why Jessica named her column All in Her Head. As men we're privileged, and it usually takes years and extra effort for us to see it; I know I myself didn't realize the depths of it until Tr*mp came along. But we're here now and we have to be of service!
In the early 1970s, I was attending meetings of the National Organization for Women in Atlanta, where I worked at a local television station. My married boss was carrying on a flagrant affair and my job description included covering for his frequent absences. He mocked my "women's lib" activities & my chances of finding a husband - for years. Then one day his daughter, whose credentials were impeccable, was not allowed to (have a specific job) and when she called her daddy crying, he hung up, turned to me and screamed, THIS IS UNFAIR! THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! "etc. ending with "Can't YOU DO SOMETHING?" Until it's someone they see as human being harmed, they won't change. So we will have a lot of harm before there is a lot of change, and Gerri lives through your remembrance.
And they are going to blame the woman.
F**k.

What sickness we have in this country.

💯 correct.
Excellent points and frightening to think this is the state of existence we are in at this point.
