Just had to share this —- I’m not able to accurately quote my spouse -abortion “a non problem that doesn’t need solving. Especially when there are so many other problems in the world.” I’m not doing justice on how my logical science geek husband speaks. I feel he is so right.
Abortion is not a problem. The people who want to make it an issue are the problem.
But we are where we are so we advocate for justice and bodily autonomy. Jeez..onward
jessica, your assertion that “ ... when abortion is on the ballot, abortion wins,” is so, so important. and it means that all democrats running for all offices should make sure that they put their pro-choice commitment front and center in their campaign messaging. in other words, even if the election isn’t about abortion, message about it at all levels anyway. i have been telling candidates that i’ll support them only if they’re forthright about being advocates for access to abortion and birth control. it might even be working. i hope.

Your numbers / percentages + research on how the nation feels about abortion gave me so much hope. Your facts about the republican focus on undermining democracy on the other hand -- all the frustrations and anger 😡. I Imagine a world where abortion is healthcare period and all this time spent fighting for basic women’s rights didn’t have to be / on the other side the fight to control women’s bodies, bring physical harm AND undermine democracy all at the same time: imagine what else we could do as a nation if we put all this energy and action into something that made the world better instead of trying to control women. Imagine?! It’s truly gotten out of control and I am so grateful for your work in fighting this fight for women. Truly, thank you.
