The link in "A new study reports that people who are having miscarriages are less likely to get optimal care if they are in a state with abortion restrictions" is broken--does anyone have that source?
just an additional piece of history. There WAS a provider in Livingston, MT (25 miles east of Bozeman)> Susan Wicklund .. she retired about 10 years ago and the clinic closed. There is now the Susan Wicklund FUND, that funds abortions ..https://www.susanwicklundfund.org/our-history/
so here's a story you might think is a huge win. Small town in Montana rejects abortion ban . https://dailymontanan.com/2023/02/10/manhattan-wont-move-ahead-with-sanctuary-city-ordinance-to-ban-abortion-after-public-outcry/ The catch? there are NO abortion providers in this town anyway. Indeed, none in its county (Gallatin) though it's the second largest in the state and home to "liberal" Bozeman and a university. NO PLACE to get either a surgical or medical abortion (there was ONE provider who quit last year, but she was a weird "I provide abortions but I also try to discourage people") We have a great Reproductive Health clinic .. that has carefully crafted its federal contracts so that it CANT provide abortions. Happy to do "referrals"... People have to travel 100/200 miles to get abortions. Any docs providing Rx for abortion drugs? I don't know
I wrote about this a couple of days ago when the AP changed their style guide to 'anti-abortion center'. I feel a couple of ways about it - I think anti-abortion center is more accurate BUT I also think the term crisis pregnancy center is well-known and actually carries a lot of (deserved) baggage about just how horrible they are. But I'll think some more about it!

Thanks for flagging this, I'll check it out!
A reminder that legality and access are two different things. The first is important but it's the second that's essential.
