Thank you so much for the work you do. It has been very helpful during this time. The weekly rundowns are great for when it's too much to read every day.

Is there or should there be a national boycott of Walgreen's for caving to the AGs' demands?

Jessica, I appreciate both the daily and weekly updates. Thank you for your important work!

This is a very disheartening time to be pro-choice in the United States.

This is a very disheartening time to be human in the United States.

But it’s not the first time, and it’s not even the darkest time. I am beginning to process and, perhaps, even understand viscerally the anguish/dismay/disequilibrium of America’s “de-“ Reconstruction through the 1870’s and 1880’s. We must fuel our moral outrage with Jessica’s strong work and we must meet the challenges head-on. To be disheartened is to risk defeat, which we cannot afford.

It is so helpful to have The Week in Abortion as well as the dailies. Some weeks I just can't keep up and The Week keeps me from losing the thread. I also find your anger to be such a comfort!

Your last sentence! Agreed, and she reminds me of my late mother that way ☺️

I read both but appreciate The Week in Abortion not only as highlights of the news, but because it shows me what you think is important to highlight, you who are steeped in this stuff, and that is important information. Thanks.

Jessica -- every day I gobble up the news digest you create, in the same way I sip my morning coffee with Bryan Stevenson’s EJI daily lynching history. These are not pleasure reads. These are not penance for personal misdeeds! But you and Bryan understand that our collective and individual DNA is encoded by these dehumanizing events. We can only understand and recognize the pain and ailments we each are feeling if we understand them in our context.

Obviously, it is hard to read. Sometimes, I cannot fathom how you manage the compilation... too much misogyny, fear, hatred, anger and that is, thankfully, not the world that I have largely known. That said, I have lived in parts of the world beset by genocidal outbursts and extreme, mortal othering; where recalibration and new trajectory was made, it was made by exposing dark truths and sustaining the difficult but vital work of reconciliation. The injustice American women are grappling with will have to be met with this sort of work... just as we MUST ultimately grapple with the legacy of America’s racist enslavement of African peoples and the casting off of the continent’s Indigenous people.

You are doing amazing work, but yes, it’s hard to stomach sometimes … which leads me to appreciate you even more because I know you are steeped in it every day! I’m glad you make a point to report on the few positives too. On that note, I know there are a lot of people out there doing grassroots work. I wonder if you have time to highlight some of them? I have a little pro-choice bracelet company that I started to raise money for abortion funds. When I have approached orgs like NARAL and the Center for Repro Rights to try to partner up, their response was that they get soooo many requests like that. I wonder who all these people are?! Would be uplifting to read about one of them every week. Yes, this is a lot more work for you, so totally get it if it’s not feasible.

Supporters of human rights, women being included, need a regular live interview program from you. I'd really enjoy hearing you taking on the posterior orifices of both sexes. Assuming the latter would have the guts to be interviewed. You could announces the names of those who refuse an invite.

Thank you for doing these weekly summaries. I don’t have the time or strength to read the news daily and am so grateful that you make it possible for me to be informed without being overwhelmed!

I hate that you have to say 'readers who can't quite stomach the daily updates' but it's a very accurate description of how bad things are.

'Legal in most cases' still drives me nuts. When exactly do these people think it should NOT be legal? Just what are they imagining happens in doctors' offices? How do we disabuse them of notions that have been ground in their heads by decades of Christian fascist propaganda?

You are so right! When I finish my day working on the frontlines it’s just too much to do the daily update. But the shorter updates are Weldon’s and amazing. Thank you!!!
