I am not sure this is the right place to ask, but here we go. I am researching on the term D&C and how it came to be as a way to lessen the shame of having to abort a fetus that died. Honestly, I was about a month younger than I am now when I heard this even though I had two D&Cs Abortions do to lack of heartbeat. I made photos during that time and I am looking to find more of a history, that a) talks about how the terminology shifted so not to feel shame as a person who lost their fetus to b) how that perpetuates the shame onto women who have abortions because they know they are not ready.

I personally feel both should not be shamed or quieted.

I just want to factual background.

Thank you

One advantage of reading here is that I can avoid the so-called mainstream media, which lazily and cowardly both-sides everything to the point where it's useless. If Republicans came out in favor of slave raids and cannibalism in the United States, the media would still give equal time and weight to their 'position'.

This is one of the most important things to understand about the anti-abortion movement, and you explained it brilliantly. Thank you for writing this column, and for the downright heroic work you've done to provide your readers with a thorough yet manageable summary of the day-to-day events of the post-Roe era. I think you're one of the best and most valuable writers in the country right now, and I can't say enough about how much you've done to help me personally cope with the crisis we're facing right now. Thank you for everything.

And these are not the only examples of saying to voters that they stand for one thing while voting for the opposite. Family values, Christian values, supporting veterans, law and order, these are all banners they hide behind while supporting candidates who predate school girls, sexually assault girls and women, plot treasonous activities, and batter police. They vote AGAINST legislation that assists veterans and police agencies, and FOR legislation that breaks all the tenets of true Christian charity. They attack gun laws designed to protect people, while supporting price grudging pharmaceutical companies, fossil fuel interests, and for profit prisons, because lobbyists have more influence over them than voters. Follow the money.
