Apparently there has been a brain drain in Austin because so many people are leaving the state. Abbott has the audacity to claim it is because those who move don't like the progressive climate. I have news for anyone who would believe that cock and bull story that people are leaving because his regime is making Texas unlivable for women. I live in Lubbock one of the most conservative parts of the state. Much of city policy is run by the big evangelical churches who turn out with votes and money to make sure the city does it their way. That is why we are a Sanctuary city of the unborn. Many of my friends here are leaving. I prefer to stay and fight.

Oh, the irony! That bastard Alito says his wife is her own person and can do whatever she chooses to do.

Jess, are you recording any of your posts? The last one I could find was from February and I love listening to you in the car - it’s my best way of keeping up!

"NEW: I spoke with anti-abortion activist Lauren Handy's attorney about the plans for appeal as she begins serving her 4-year sentence.

They're aiming for acquittal, sure, but also something bigger: A long-awaited chance to get the FACE act before SCOTUS."

The most important advice I would give to any woman of child rearing age, is to make sure your birth control is on the up and up. Like and get something that you don’t have to think about, like an iud (I got one) or a depo shot. I tried to get my tubes tied, but I got some pushback on that, (I am 36, unmarried, already got 1 son) the pill is certainly better than nothing or just condoms, but there’s a worry about forgetting to take it.

Alito misconstruing (aka lying about) research from the Brennan center... how surprising! (NOT). This guy and his wife are really showing their true colors, and if we thought the Thomases are bad, this couple is equally bad. {Now imagine 4 more Alitos on the court. I am not happy we have Biden to fight this fight but we have no other option}.

The Brennan Center for Justice accused Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito of misconstruing its research in a South Carolina gerrymandering case.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I HATE that term, "pre-born children." It is SO Orwellian, SO unscientific - drives me up the wall!

I think the "abolitionists" piss me off the most.

I live in Kansas. Kansas abolitionists - the real ones, who fought to abolish slavery - have always been heroes to me. These nasty little fucks attempting to cover themselves in the glory of men and women who bled and died for a truly noble cause really makes me angry.

Me too, friend! Also, these present 'abolitionists' (ie - the next iteration of Pro-Life Inc, but with less political influence) are dumb as a box of rocks - ask any one of them what a State turns a woman into when it forces her (uncompensated and against her will) to labour for 9+ months and produce at the end of that labor the most valuable thing in the world?

Leaked video from March. They want to repeal birth control and NO exceptions for rape and incest.

The Director of Policy for Abolish Abortion Texas is a MAN.....Paul Brown......ties to misogynistic, white supremacist leader Nick Fuentes. YES.....they HATE women and girls. We are garbage to them.

Wait— didn’t we just learn that women are victims of abusive men who sneak abortion pills into their drinks? And now they are perpetrators of murder? Pick a lane, guys.. that said, this is a party platform. I’ll be more worried when it looks like they can actually get a law passed. I’m less worried about this than I am about Comstock and all the chipping away tactics…but thank you, Jessica, for making an appropriate amount of noise.

I know we aren’t supposed to stoop to the level of arguing over whether we should control our own literal fucking bodies, but I’m tired of vindictive, petty and sanctimonious men in comments in YouTube. Whenever this kind of messaging against anti-abortion groups comes up where they discuss ‘abortion abolitionists’, these men go wild in comments. If anyone has time to at least throw a few pro-choice points under some videos, please start with this one…

Many, if not most, of our elected officials no longer care what their constituents desire. Once elected, their ideologies take center stage regardless of political affiliation.

The attacks on our Constitution, rules of law, and social justice are diminishing the average American’s ability to discern truth from lie, corruption from legitimacy, and morality from immorality. The MSM has accommodated the wrongdoers in subtle and deliberate manipulation, further extending the Republican reach into any screen we’re watching at any given time.

Democrats have not countered the narratives. So. The anti-abortion movement has been free to construct euphemisms to explain how deadly serious their laws have become. Nice words and sounds are a cover for the nasty business they are undertaking.

WHY isn't the Texas GOP platform calling for women who need abortions to be treated as murderers in every news outlet's, gazillion-point font, above the fold, screaming headlines? Could it be the galloping normalization of the bizarre? Or that the Orange Menace's latest antics keep diluting all the attention the media has available? SO frustrating!

Or the fact that republicans own most of the MSM including CNN, WaPo, and the NYT.

Listening to your interview on Sam Seder Majority Report from 8 months ago (sorry). Great job. Your framing is perfect-point to one case where an exception was granted. That means exceptions aren’t real. Also, medical cooling across the board. I can tell you exactly how this has played out in the disabled community of people suffering from extremely painful conditions once an opioid epidemic was declared-mass suicides, people unable to work and function, becoming homeless, some turning finally to drugs. The enforcement has followed the same playbook; elaborate lies. Most overdoses are from illicit drugs and always have been, but they used overdoses as an excuse to stop treating patients, take doctors assets, jail them, and win huge lawsuits that ultimately are funding further militarization of law enforcement. Anyone who speaks up is libeled and shut down. Propaganda on mainstream media tows the line.

I’m with you. What the “state” has done to inflict torture upon people with chronic, incurable, pain conditions is frightening & the msm completely ignores it; reporting instead on OD numbers. Those numbers don’t tell the correct story. The vast majority of drug OD deaths are not from legally prescribed opioids, they are from fentanyl or from street purchased opioids. When an OD occurs that includes an opioid, it is almost never alone, it’s what we call polypharmacy- a mix of 2-4 drugs plus alcohol.

The number of our veterans, elders, & others who were unceremoniously cut off from opioid pain meds, that they had taken responsibly for years, who then went on to commit suicide due to the agony of untreated chronic pain is NEVER reported on.

Everyone in the pro choice, pro democracy movement would do well to inform themselves of what has happened to all of those millions of their fellow citizens left to suffer, & then when they just can’t stand it anymore, to quietly die.
