You mention partnering with other cities/states/orgs and helping to get the news out for them. What is a good platform to use for sharing this information far and wide?
this might seem obvious, but if you buy a pregnancy test and/or plan b, always pay cash. don’t use a credit card, debit card, or a check. and in red states, maybe wear a nondescript cap with the brim pulled down.
Sadly, I think that anything requiring action on Biden’s part is a nonstarter. He seems to have decided to pretend he’s about to hand off to a normal administration.
(1) look into mandating each state report maternal mortality cases — like a nationwide Maternal Mortality Committee — probably under the auspices of the CDC or HHS,
because some states are making noises about shutting down their state Maternal Mortality Committees. Or he should mandate that each state maintain one, and that their reports are published at the end of each fiscal year without exception.
(2) Look into issuing something strengthening the HIPAA protections for any obgyn related health data, to prevent state AGs from accessing it.
Obviously, not everybody even has a job, much less a job with health benefits, much less a job with a High Deductible Health Plan (which is a poor excuse for health benefits, but better than nothing). And not everyone is willing to have their employers know what kind of reproductive health care they access. But the new ruling will help at least some people who want contraceptives and/or EC but have financial problems paying for them.
The IRS recently published guidance allowing HDHPs to pay the full cost of condoms, OTC oral contraceptives, and EC. The new guidance removes the prior requirement that HDHP funds could only be used for prescription contraceptives. Furthermore, this rule is effective retroactively, applying to health plan years beginning on or after December 30, 2022 (i.e., it goes back almost two years). The rules are in IRS Notice 2024-75. That's a great idea, approving Mifepristone for other uses.
Biden is not going to sign an anti-fetal personhood executive order. I think Biden is on board with the whole fetal personhood narrative.
Here’s another group (in addition to the League of Women Voters) trying to get Biden to publish the ERA:

What an incredible list - hoping it gets to the right people
Also just initiated a monthly donation to ineedanA.com…
What is needed to publish the ERA? Wouldn't that protect all women constitutionally? It's been so long I am not up to date on this.
Another organization trying to get the ERA passed:

Why isn’t Biden instructing the archivist to publish the ERA?
Hi great post - so who do we lobby to have the FDA approve mifepristone for miscarriage care? Who gets my call and letter?
Here’s the current head of the FDA and a link to send him an email:

Biden does not have the power to fire DeJoy. There’s a board that has that power.

I think Biden has never really supported reproductive rights, especially abortion.
Biden administration should

Jessica, where is the best place to send money to stockpile abortion meds?
ineedana.com is a great source.
Jessica, you are a warm light in a dark country.
Suggestions on how to pen pal with a sister city org??
