I am very pro choice , and this includes the physical and emotional well being of us women! And more OB-GYN are leaving red states because of these abortion bans. The bans are driving away the people trained to deal with high risk pregnancies! Which just compounds the problem. It’s awful.
So, that Ed Martin who worked on the Republican plank, and who thinks that any abortion after conception is "late term"- is that the same Ed Martin who is now the Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney, who is launching a probe of the Jan 6 prosecutions?

Do you have a glossary of terms that the republicans and antiabortionists are using to reframe the discussion along with a definition of what they really mean? Having a list like that would be handy, and also something we could use to help other people understand what's really at stake when they say they wouldn't support "bans" (for example).
The worse problem that anti-abortionists have is the language of pregnancy itself and especially the general biological language used to describe pregnancy for all animal life and especially the higher vertebrates like mammals, like us. The process is called gestation and the distinguishing stages are, zygote, blastocyst, embryo, fetus and neonate (infant). Look for a previous Jessica article where somebody actually proposed a bill to outlaw ejaculation where not intended to fertilize an embryo. Really.
Is it possible to now get a hysterectomy “for medical reasons “ covered by insurance because pregnancy will be such a threat to my life now? This is all so infuriating and THANK YOU for devoting so much time (and probably exhausting emotions it induces) to getting us this important information.
What they are not saying is that they DO value a “baby” more than the woman. That is the bottom line. If a woman dies and a baby (maybe a boy!) lives that is justice.
Even worse is that the "baby" is really a myth, a fantasy to prop up religious socialization. A woman's pregnancy is not a baby. It is something becoming a baby.
How can I buy mefi to have for younger friends & family, like 14 yr old great nieces, etc. I can afford to buy at least 10 kits to have on hand. I’ve tried 2 online sites & they both asked for DOB & then prompted me that the pills could only be for my use.
What do I do?? I’m trying to be a helper before the Comstock Act shuts off access.
I just did this for my daughter via Aid Access. They had a very easy, straightforward process. I just entered my daughter's name and DOB but used my own contact info.
In his hearing, RFK mentions ending federal funding for abortion and says, perhaps mistakenly, Title X. Curious about what’s going on here. Title X does not fund abortion care. Is he doing this on purpose to conflate Title X and abortion or is he suggesting that the Administration is planning to defund our sole federal source of funds for family planning care? Maybe all of the above.
