Check this out from Wapo on Monday: An excellent column by Kate Cohen on Jessica’s book that explains how we all need to get beyond accepting the old restrictions on abortion and demand no interference in our healthcare. Jessica is changing the conversation! I am so grateful!

There is such a ripe market for this:

If Mark Cuban wants to start a new national paper with disgruntled star reporters from the WaPo, NYT & L.A. Times, with full editorial separation, I’ll subscribe.

Michelle Obama to men on abortion healthcare...starts @4:00 and I don't understand why it took weeks to deliver this message geared toward men but hope it is not too late. Why are not Montana and Ohio Dem senators running for reelection and in trouble making a pitch like this (if they are I have not seen it)?

Great article in today's NYT about how Trump could stop all abortions without Congress doing anything. Specifically, enforcing the Comstock Act and having his FDA stop abortion medications. It's going to happen because he owes his evangelicals.

I know we are all aware of this stuff because Jessica keeps us informed but nice to see it in the MSM.

Musk the illegal alien... If they are scaring people about the open border in the south, it is like open borders for these aliens who became billionaires because of America but who don't have America's best interests, in fact they want to ruin America on behalf of their Russian and Chinese overlords... This needs to be fixed.

Aren't there any benevolent billionaires in America who will do the right thing by the people?

NEW: Elon Musk was working unlawfully when he built the startup that made him a millionaire in the 1990s, according to interviews, documents and records obtained by The Washington Post. Board members found out and mobilized to fix it: "We don't want our founder being deported."

I don't think there are benevolent billionaires because that kind of wealth does something to people.

You are right, press/media are the arbiters of truth and I thought Bezos would turn out better when he bought WAPO. I never subscribed because I didn't think I had to pay a billionaire for printing the truth, for being on the right side.

Don't just buy the book, READ IT. Well-written and containing many fact-based episodes.

Congratulations Jessica for making the List of Students For Life with your book. When they figure out it’s not going anywhere I hope they stew, gnash their teeth, and cry foul. Reminds me, I need to write a review…then give to my husband. He wants to read it!

RBG…these people know that their anti abortion games are wildly unpopular and are killing women. They know they’re losing. They have no constructive way to pretty it up, so they steal and twist words.

We see right through it, because we aren’t stupid. Once again, Women 10,000 Anti abortion jerkoffs 0.

NY Times article tonight on how Trump can use Comstock and other means to subjugate us at fertilization is being published so late in the game.

And Harris and the Dems don’t make the point enough thst no signing of any legislation is needed to effectively make us handmaids from sea to shining sea.

She said that in her speech yesterday that trump does not need congress to put a national ban in effect.

Expand full comment

That's good, but I wish she had said that at the debate, on national TV, for everyone to hear -- for the other side to hear. It's not enough to say it at a rally, especially this late in the game when millions of votes have already been cast.

Agree. I feel that this whole abortion event could have been put together a week or two ago for early voters. Also the importance of getting a D Congress esp. the House. trump and johnson are plotting something nefarious.

VP's Houston rally was unbelievable... a crowd of 30K! This election HAS to be a single issue election, guaranteed healthcare for women. When 50+% of the population is under a healthcare crisis where they could die a preventable death, perpetrated at the hands of politicians seeking election/reelection, there is nothing else but to vote them out. It is shameful that the press/media were not on the side of the people about this situation which might get worse because they didn't tell the truth or disseminate it widely. To VP's credit, she has in this short campaign cycle, methodically introduced issue after issue to the public that the press has glossed over again and again.

“Before the legislators voted, they knew their law could harm other aspects of reproductive health care. There was a well-publicized outcry from physicians about the proposal. The decision to pass it anyway reveals a callousness toward maternal health from a movement whose supporters claim to be pro-life.”

I want to know why pro-life does not appear to include women. Sigh!

Expand full comment

Yeah, exactly! It is obvious anti abortion people have a really skewed understanding of “life”. That is so remote from what that word actually means, it’s not even funny. Pro life? My ass.

It's never been pro-life. It's anti-choice for women.

“A callousness toward maternal health” it’s a callousness towards women and their “shameful” behaviors decided upon by religious zealots hell bent on power disguised as faith.

Bezos canceled the WAPO endorsement of either candidates. Now Bezos Space Exploration execs met with trump. I hate these billionaires. These fuckers lack humanity. Also why do we even have such a big gender gap? Why don't more of the men care about the rights of the women in their life? If 'rights' is an esoteric term for them, why not think about it as lack of healthcare that could kill the women in their lives?

You can watch VP's Houston rally here streaming now... There is a doctor speaking with a whole bunch standing on the stage. CSPAN is carrying it.

We also just canceled WaPo and Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, Amazon also bought One Medical and I’ve dithered on finding a new doctor because I really like mine but clearly it’s time. Also no more Whole Foods.

I am in the same boat. Lately Trader Joe's on Wisc. Ave near Cordell is working out well for us. I don't shop much on Amazon anyway but my doc is also at One Medical. I complained to One Medical about their membership fees -- IDK what I am getting for that money.

Men like Bezos and Musk consider women property. And they believe they will always be able to buy the healthcare to save the women in their lives if they want to.

No, many men don't care about women, even their wives and daughters. To men who support Trump women are nothing more than sex toys to be discarded when they are now longer satisfying.

I now recognize that the majority of American men HATE women.
