The good news is that Montana HB 609, the “trafficking” bill has been tabled in the House Judiciary Committee. Eight R’ublicans voted with the eight Democrats to table the bill. This bill was so bad that only four representatives, all freedom caucus R’ublicans, voted not to table it.

Apparently the state does not have “strong, legitimate interests” in preserving the lives of women. 🤬🤬🤬

It's not even a tiny stretch to imagine that if you are pregnant or even of childbearing age travel could be restricted, right? Like I'm not jumping into conspiracy territory, am I? I know everyone on here will say "No, no, of course you're not." But also, I want someone to say, "Well, I can see how you would think that, but that's not gonna happen." Especially with the SAVE act circling our heads again. Fuck. All this is making sitting at a desk a little hard today.

Our Constitution—the 14th Amendment—defines a person as being “born.” As someone who is asking repeatedly anti-abortion politicians why they believe in cell/embryonic personhood and they have no answer, the question for these folks is why they believe in fetal torture by forcing a fetus with severe abnormalities to progress to the point when the rudimentary brain has developed at 24-25 weeks.

The text of the amendment suggests what they want to do is very unconstitutional.

The government may regulate the provision of abortion care after fetal viability provided that in

no circumstance shall the government deny or burden access to an abortion that, in the good

faith judgment of a treating health care professional, is medically indicated to protect the life or

health of the pregnant patient.

(3) The government shall not penalize, prosecute, or otherwise take adverse action against a person

based on the person’s actual, potential, perceived, or alleged pregnancy outcomes. The

government shall not penalize, prosecute, or otherwise take adverse action against a person for

aiding or assisting another person in exercising their right to make and carry out decisions about

their pregnancy with their voluntary consent.

How is it that these people have such a multi-faceted strategy, woven throughout all factions of the republican party and we (with the exception of AED) are always playing defense, always playing legislative whack-a-mole, every fucking time? Do we not have diabolical strategists on our side? Where are the billionaires who want to donate to this cause? Where are our loopholes? These people want to and are killing women and girls. It’s a fucking disgrace. Jessica what you do is invaluable.

You are correct! It doesn’t affect most people (men) until a crisis for a pregnant person.

See, you don't have to have legal title to a human being to force slave labor upon that person. All you need is possessory rights (by laws) to their vagina and uterus. Make a Republican state a large concentration camp. Make (pregnant) human beings prisoners until breeding is complete.

Other names for that Party are SUP (Slaved Uterus Party) and VRP (Vaginal Rape Party) - forced birth, rape from the inside out.

Someone in the MSM needs to do a quick hits of these state bills and out this crazy crap. We just lost a strong voice in MSNBC in Joy Reid. I'm worried about what it going on there... She was outspoken and strong on women's rights. But really -- the MSM doesn't cover these proposed bills until they are at their final stages. Now is the time, esp when the country is starting to wake up a bit and realize that the Trump admin is lawless, reckless, and autocratic -- and chainsaw massacre Musk is, well, a cruel jerk. I think more people will be receptive to the idea that this crazy crap can really happen, because they're seeing it happen with everything Trump says.

Mention of Joy Reid reminded of the Seneca Project 1 min ad. I need to start sharing it again. Also, Meidas Touch has invited Joy to join MT. They are now #1 Podcast ahead of Joe Rogan which is really pissing off Trumpers and Faux News.

Anyone have it on other than X??

That video is frightening and good to share cause it's short and deadly. Thanks for posting it here. I'm not so adept at social media.

Glad Joy was invited to join MT ! I just subscribed to it on Spotify. Haven't listened yet but I read MT's posts on Bluesky.

How would they find out the intent of said woman who is traveling within or out of state? 👀

Is she to be shackled to the bedpost for the entirety of her pregnancy or just towards the end? There really is no end (in sight) to this downward spiraling absurdity of America.

Well, when the so-called "Department of Life" starts up and they begin monitoring pregnancy outcomes, they'll wonder what happened to Suzie's Zygote from Montana and then investigate with their pregnancy police. I'd be scared to tell anyone I was pregnant! They're going to scare women from going to doctors. This country is not recognizable anymore. It's really lunatic!

Exactly. Young women who have to complete their education in a Republican (Slave State should emigrate to a Free state. But difficult or impossible for most people subject to slave laws. Should a family or an at-risk female (puberty to menopause) move from a Free state to a Slave state??

And boys. I don’t want my teenage son to be forced to be a dad or choose to someday and they have to live an unnecessary tragedy anymore than I want my daughter to be forced into pregnancy ever. This affects all of us. Both my kids are urged to stay local. I can’t understand why anyone is letting their kids go to college in a red state. It’s physically dangerous for them. This whole thing horrifies me and it’s all connected to the shock and awe we see in the White House. They are rolling back all civil rights. That’s the end game.
