Amendment 3 was a tough fight, but we persisted and won back some reproductive freedoms that Missouri Republicans tried hard to take away.
But this fight is not over either. Republicans will start filing lawsuits and a new petition with misleading language to reverse these gains. Please keep the attention on our state.
More good news: Amarillo, Texas voters rejected a travel ban ordinance by 20%! Congratulations to the Amarillo Reproductive Freedom Alliance. Texas Christians for Reproductive Justice partnered with them by mounting two “Travel Bans Oppress Christians” billboards on I40, the highway from Texas into New Mexico linking to our “The Bible is Not Against Abortion” fact sheet. In a state like Texas, I’m convinced a two prong strategy like this is what will eventually help erode support for our abortion bans.
How can I send a message to Jessica valenti w/o posting it where everyone can see it? In Florida, where the republicans have once again cheated women out our autonomy. I got questions, how are women accessing care where it’s illegal? Where do I sign up for the abortion Underground Railroad? I want to drive women in Florida where ever they need to go to get what they need. That’s not illegal, nor is the desire to do it, how do I start?
Thank you, Jessica, for this glimmer. I was not confident at all it was going to pass. I was in Missouri last month for the burial of my deeply loved older brother, and I saw very few "yes" signs, even in suburban St. Louis.
My stepdad, a retired Presbyterian pastor, was part of an ad campaign in support of the amendment. His full name and face were on tv and in people’s mailboxes in the lead-up to the election.
I am so proud of him for bravely and publicly standing up for his beliefs and doing his part to get this amendment passed.
I’m gutted and I am watching this from Canada, I can’t imagine how you all feel today. Everyone worked so hard, Kamala and Tim and all the surrogates worked so hard. You all put your heart into it. Please stay safe and hug your loved ones
I canvassed for amendment 3. I'm so proud of all our hardwork! However, MO can't help it and voted republican. Now, just as they did with Medicaid expansion...make it disappear. I can't believe this is real life. How is this real life?! How?! How do we survive this?!
And Missouri voted Republican making abortion rights passage moot. I'm sure they are looking for ways to make the abortion rights amendment null and void.
A bright spot in an increasingly dismal evening. But even if most of these bans are overturned (Florida is lost), Comstock will likely become the go-to way of overcoming these ballot initiatives. And it will be nationalized, so the entire country will be thrown back to the dark landscape of illegal abortions.
Hats off to those who saw this through…one bright spot in an otherwise dismal landscape.

Sadly, Americans decided to burn it all to the ground. So the national ban will trump all these state wins for reproductive rights.

Agreed. This is what Missouri Voters do over and over again.
This win is an incredibly significant one. Y E S !! Y E S !!
Wonderful news! I just wished all these people understood they also needed to vote Harris. 😢
Wonderful news from Missouri.

And the trump FDA will revoke approval of abortion drugs. One way or another there will be a national abortion ban.
I am really afraid that this will happen. Thrn they will go after contraception
Yes, they will try and have some birth control classified as abortifacients, then ban them.
I am worried about Comstock. I really see very dark days ahead for this country.
Sadly true.
who knows how long state laws will hold though :(
Congratulations Missouri! Great job of cohesive organizing💪
