Fuck yes we will! I waited til now to read your newsletter just for that inspiration! I felt it waking up as well! I was starting to get scared so I needed this boost, thank you as always for all you do love! 💙
Door knocking in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Almost all these turnout doors are women. The Trump signs are upsetting, but D’s had more volunteers than turf this afternoon, I have not seen any Trump volunteers or Trump lit at apartment doors.
"Feminism is really just the long slow realization that the things you love hate you. I say no to people who prioritize being cool over being good. I say no to misogynists who want to weaponize my body against me" - Lindy West, from her book Shrill. I never forget that first line, she wrote it after she realized one of her favorite radio shows was fat-shaming women. We got this! No matter what happens.. but I too, have a good feeling about this. Thank you, Jessica!
This is such a great point--we know that this country is a misogynist place. We know this. And we're ready, either way. And as that great video from NDN Collective going around articulates, every elected official, once elected, becomes our opponent. The work continues, either way. But I just am really hoping that we see that # of white women voting for him go down. I just want it to go down.
Brainwashed into fear, and misogyny from birth in uber-religious households. This is especially true in the south, where racism and white supremacy permeates their culture.
Michigan voter: I voted for Kamala Harris. I have three daughters. Women's rights is pretty important to them. I'm sorry, I'm getting a little emotional. Their bodies, their choice. I want them to grow up in a world that's welcoming to everybody
Years ago, without my knowledge, my sibling betrayed my trust and outed me to family and friends. I thought they would be supportive, or at the very least, respectful of my decisions, but instead shamed, humiliated and ostracized me. This is the first place I have come to where I feel like I can be accepted and understood. Jessica, thank you for creating this space. And to the ladies who speak out and do what I wish had been done for me, thank you. It has meant everything to me. Today, no shame, no apologies - my decisions, my life. I voted early and I voted blue. Thank you again for giving me a forum to speak openly. I pray we will win so we can move forward to preserve our freedoms and protect our future.
Welcome! we not only support one another, but we share our stories of abuse, which many have experienced from family, or spouse, and abortion, and whatever else we can to help others understand, abortion is healthcare. *mic drop*
I just voted in Alabama- and you legit vote at a round table so anyone could see your ballot. So much for privacy. I wasn’t concerned if anyone saw me vote for Harris however- what about privacy?
Thank you, Jessica! I too am hopeful! I actually had a dream last night that all the pundits were saying she won! 🙏🇺🇸💃🏾 then I saw trump in an airplane with the oxygen mask on!! 😆😭😝 hoping he was on a flight to Russia!! 😂! But our work does not end! We will continue to fight for your rights! Unfortunately MAGA. Cult is not going away! Stay vigilant!! ❤️✌🏼🌊🌊🌊🌊

I proudly cast my vote last week in California for Harris. I'm nervous today, but I know we can get her elected.

Not only is thr U.S. misogynist, there are women who, for whatever reasons, collude with men to keep oppressing women.

Thank you for articulating the mental and emotional space that I have come to in the past few months. I, for one, will definitely not be "going back"
