Women born in the US are Americans! We make up half the population, half of the registered voters! We aren’t a concept. We are real. We are everywhere. Don’t forget that!
By the way, I've been campaigning for us to add the word "safety" when talking about reproductive rights. E.g. "women's reproductive safety and freedoms". As anyone who has been pregnant knows, you somehow feel different in your body carrying a baby - there's a sense of vulnerability. It is VERY REAL. Pregnancy isn't a cake walk - there are real safety issues involved, especially in banned states.
The GOP is going to really try to throw women off the voter rolls. I remember hearing someone talk of an effort to throw women off whose married and maiden (recoiling at that term now) names don't match. How can we help mitigate that? I want to sign up to help women in key states make sure they are registered correctly with one name.... Anyone know how to get involved with that?
Two most important things I have learned in the last couple of years from seeing my 80+ MIL suffer and having another relative diagnosed with a disease that may lead to disability that would apply to what Biden went through at the hands of the media and its enablers:
1) physical disability does not mean you are incompetent;
2) affording dignity must be primary focus when we are dealing with older people.
I feel like media and others crossed the line sometimes.
Reading this was like making it to the water's surface at the very last moment and getting a big gulp of fresh air! Her unwavering commitment will invigorate many who have become discouraged to pick up the fight again and more strongly than ever. We've already seen the money turned on again!
Now let’s just keep the consultants away from her and allow her to follow her passion and lead from her core. The danger is that the message will get watered down and she will be over-handled. Run on Freedom and Trust Women. Never waiver. And she will win handily..
