"boys will be boys" how is that BS still around? and being repeated by women. What the? I just hope that this horror shines a light on the darkness that is racism/misogyny and all intolerance that has been hidden.
Jessica—please stop linking to New Yorker articles. Not only does the link not lead me to the relevant article, but the New Yorker is behind a paywall and we stopped getting it because it is so expensive. It would be great if you could expand a little on what the New Yorker articles say, but if not, we don’t need a link, it’s pretty useless.
That New Yorker article is such a worthwhile read. Dr. Ogburn and the staff he recruited before the bans went into effect in Texas are precisely the kind of competent, humane doctors women desperately need, especially when they are facing a pregnancy that isn't viable.
As for the nurses who threatened to sue, they are absolutely despicable.
Leave it to the-guy-who-never-met-a-woman-he-wouldn’t-impregnate to fund the lies of the anti-abortion brigade. Our tax dollars have been freely given to this autistic anomaly many times to the tune of billions. He is an immigrant. He disowned his gay daughter. He wants to cut two trillion dollars from our domestic governmental programs, ensuring that American children suffer poverty.
Elon Musk is an extreme danger to American and the world. He’s too busy to spend time with the dozen children he’s already notched onto his “population belt,” and his transient nature — combined with his stinking outrageous wealth — will no doubt provide the world more children as time goes on.
After saying that skipping maternal mortality reviews of the first 3 years of the Texas abortion ban was a “coincidence”, Dr. Carla Ortique, a Houston OB/GYN and chair of the state committee, went on to “remind” committee members “The work we do is for the greater good.”
As the maternal mortality chair, Dr. Ortique is implicitly in agreement with not evaluating maternal mortality for 2021, 2022 and 2023. How is that acting “for the greater good”? It one more way to bury the truth about maternal mortality in the state of Texas. Dr. Ortique is complicit in this.
In their world view, women want 'babies'; that is the totality of the purpose of women. So women getting abortions are either gravely morally defective, bloodthirsty witches, or they are having abortions they don't really want. They refuse to entertain anything other than those two options, because they refuse to entertain the idea that women are full human beings, not just incubators for breeding and support creatures for husbands, sons, and fathers. This depraved thinking still commands the support of enough of a critical mass of the population to deny women their human rights, and it's a universal problem in the species. I don't know what it takes to overcome.
The proof that they are lying and know that they are lying is that they don’t support food stamps, school lunches, public schools, headstart programs, post grad education rebates, children’s services, family housing supports, health care, pre and post maternal care. Anything that would provide an environment where children flourish is not on their must-do list. What they want are poor people who supply cheap labour to fill the labour gap after all the undocumented who now do those jobs are evicted. And of course they want women barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. Or to use the Nazi slogan: Kinder, Küche, Kirche. Children, kitchen, and church should be sufficient to keep women occupied. No showing off with fancy degrees and careers where they can be independent and make their own money.

My apologies Jessica. Have a great weekend ❤️

When I clicked on the link there was no pay wall & I've never subscribed.

I hope RBG has some sway with Karma.
He’s not just an immigrant, he’s an illegal immigrant. He came on a student visa and quickly dropped out.
Then according to their immigration rules he should be deported come New World Dystopian Order Day (D-Day).
Musk is such a repugnant, disturbing person. I suspect Musk views his partners and female children as "less than" fully human.
His deceit in using RBG's name for that phony PAC is despicable.

Do we know whether Dr. Ortique is anti-choice,or another doctor who is too afraid to stand up to thr Texas bullies?

Like I've said before, slave camps. Gotta stock those slave camps that are on the horizon.
Thanks Andra. Have a good weekend
