I really like the short paragraph at the top—gives me a quick idea of the contents in case I don’t have time to read the entire thing. Some days are too busy, then I feel like I get behind in the news. So having a summary is a great way of giving me a good overview.

Cute that Yost claims he wants to go after SA offenders when it's completely legal to rape your wife in Ohio as long as you don't drug her...

I’ve got a letter to Mark Lee Dickson going out next week, as well as to members of the Lubbock City Council.

Do you know about that beauty shop? I’d jump in my car and drive from Dallas to support them, if needed.

Beauty shop?

The one in yesterday’s post. They’re giving out emergency contraception kits and the anti-abortionists are threatening to put them out of business like they apparently did to a coffee shop.

I evidently skipped over that article. Not used to getting any news coverage out here lol. No I hadn't heard of it but I guess I know where I'm going to get my hair done next. That Dickson guy is such a creepy incel douchebag.

Re: "Tuberville’s actions, saying that the Republican is undermining the military with his “extreme political agenda”..."

Wishing Biden would stop legitimizing this as a political agenda when it's not, it is a religious agenda to force Tubervilles religious beliefs on our nation. By failing to name it truthfully its only making Tuberville’s stronger.

It’s not even religious (as I say repeatedly-sorry). Tuberville says he is church of Christ. Church of Christ doctrine say they follow the Bible. The Bible can’t be used as a basis to oppose abortion (e.g., there’s an abortion performed in Numbers 5).

Here’s their trick: one Church of Christ in Ohio, in the ‘Abortion’ section, altered Exodus 21:22-25 to conflate a situation in which two people (probably dudes) cause a miscarriage which results in a fine with the following sentence that mentions ‘other harms’ which result in ‘an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.’ They edit out the ‘other harms’ sentence. I don’t even know how that would work: the offender’s spouse gets pregnant and the woman who miscarries beats her up?

WTF already, Biden needs to go on the attack: Tuberville is not doing his constitutional duty; he should be impeached. Where is the outrage by the DEMS especially the DEM senators? Can the Senate censure him? Personal beliefs and bias are just that and shouldn’t be a factor in these confirmations. Disgusting. If TBV is so outraged, he should go work for a religious organization. This is his PERSONAL agenda. Where is the outrage from the military? I know they’re upset but but this piece of garbage needs to be pressured nonstop.

Irony is dead…volume 1,000,000,000. Senator Tommy Tubberville who is putting our country’s security in peril by holding up military promotions, thereby leaving critical positions vacant, is always talking about his father- who he calls a WWII military hero. Problem is, he has lied about his father’s service. His father did serve honorably in our military and we appreciate his service. However, Tubberville has consistently said his father won metals (when he didn’t) and has said his father fought at critical events at the end of the war (when he didn’t). Glen Kessler of the WaPo wrote a deep dive on this.

I saw something on the substack feed speculating that the real reason for the holds is to keep vacancies to help Trump with the coup they're planning if they win the election. Which if true would be even more disturbing.

I read that too. Makes sense. And it's terrifying.

Considering that that has been done before (holding open RBG's seat on the Supreme Ct, to give the appointment to Trump) that would absolutely not surprise me one bit.

If you are looking for feedback on that opening paragraph, I loved it! When I posted your newsletter to my personal page and our nonprofit page, I called it a " pre-cap". Get it? Like a recap only before the newsletter LOL 😸 and I put that as the comment above the link. We will see how many people hit on it
