I write about abortion and have been since the mid-1970s and would hope that any analysis you do would also end up some place in print. Print is so much better for those of us who save your blog because we can search them if need be. You give us an incredible amount of information and it helps if it is in a form that is easy to access, not just for me, but for reporters and others. BTW, thanks so much for what you're doing, I find it amazing!

Man, the medical records piece just makes my blood boil. Even if they never actually request records, just putting this letter out there will make patients and clinics afraid. It will surely motivate some people to seek care from places that don’t keep records...

As you are looking for feedback, I much prefer the audio version because listening is much easier for me to do, with juggling life and because I am more of an audio vs visual learner. That said, I completely understand that recording every day must take a lot of time, and you too are busy with life and with professional work! Either way you end up deciding to do it though, I will remain a subscriber -- this podcast/newsletter has become central to my own advocacy and drive to stay as informed as possible.

Yay "is exactly what I'm interested in hearing", always fearful of offending.

No worries "don't go anywhere quite yet", signed up for the year so you've got me for a bit more, even if largely unable to ever read all of your valuable & meaningful research.

I don't read the newsletter; I listen to it daily to and from work. I prefer to have a daily audio version, but I understand if your time is spend more efficiently working on other projects for the newsletter. I will remain a subscriber no matter if the audio is daily or weekly. The work you are doing is very important and I plan to continue to support that.

Thank you for this! I really am curious about what people prefer! I'm going to try out the weekly this week (and maybe next?) and then switch back, and then send out a poll. I really appreciate the feedback!!

Popping in to say as hard as it is sometimes, I read every word of this newsletter every day. I don’t listen to the audio because I prefer reading, so as long as I get it in writing, I’m good. I figure if you can swim through this sewer of news every day, I can at least support your efforts with eyeballs, thought and money. Thank you for what you do.

Me too. I click to the links as well and try to look in more depth, esp to send to people as prime sources.

Really excellent coverage -- thank you, Jessica! I’m proud of my home state of Maryland. We have to work hard to replicate our Governor’s sanity everywhere!

Although can appreciate all the aspects of the burden that recording an audio may represent, there's just not enough hours in a day to read posts unfortunately. Sadly have depended upon the audio as a subscriber, but without it have to wonder if I can remain.

Thank you for letting me know - this is *exactly* what I'm interested in hearing! I'm going to try out weekly for this week, then send out a poll - but I expect others will feel the same that you do, so don't go anywhere quite yet ;)

Why oh why can't the Democrats do a better job of countering that "up to the moment of birth" lie? Reporters should, too. They have to know it's not true and they have to push back more.

I'm so disappointed with the mainstream media.

I read Cori Bush's interview just before I opened this newsletter. I'm so damn proud of her!!

Jessica, audio or written I am here for it everyday! If you need to change it up to continue to do your work I will still be here for it. I do enjoy the audio for your added commentary and F words:)!

Weekly audio is fine! I don't know how you do this newsletter AND the audio.

Yesterday I listened to the newsletter with the AI generated voice and it was hilarious hearing it mildly repeat Jessica’s colorful language. I loved hearing the podcast regularly, but I will happily read or listen to the AI during the week if it means you all get more time to do the work you need to do, especially since the sheer volume of news/detail seems to be ever-expanding.

It’s crazy to me that Iowa was the first state to legalize gay marriage and now they are trying to institute a 6 week abortion ban. Make it make sense...

I also sometimes delete your emails, it is too much and so depressing some days. I really enjoy listening to the Strict Scrutiny podcast. Hearing the anger and WTFs sometimes give me hope more than reading it. I told my husband I need to get a t shirt that says YOU'RE WELCOME. My neighbors and American society in general should be thankful everyday that I keep my shit together! I even travel on different roads to avoid the Catholic church that not only hid the molesting priests (I live outside of Philly) but has a sign out for you to obtain the reverse abortion pill. YOU'RE WELCOME Moms for Liberty car that parks at my local library - I have your plate number in case on day the FBI is looking for you! YOU'RE WELCOME!

“No Labels” is a Republican front group. I don’t trust it on abortion anymore than I trust it on any other subject (in other words, not at all).

Oh yeah. Read their "ideas." They're so stupid as to be insulting. Who could disagree with any of it in general.... They say nothing, really. And the devil is in the details. They're there to take votes from Democrats, no doubt.

Exactly right. It’s out to split the Democratic vote and get the orange Cheeto re-elected.

I actuallly wonder - but I could be wrong - if it's to get rid of Cheeto. I wonder if they're trying to siphon enough "independent/centrist" voters into the "moderate" GOP camp so as to sideline MAGA. They know they can't win nationally with MAGA.

I wish I could believe that, but I can’t. Not when I look at who is behind it, staffing it, funding it.

And Joe Lieberman is a founder of it. Yikes. He said this week that the group would stand down if it looked like it was aiding Trump. What is wrong with Lieberman? Why is he doing this to Biden?

Here’s a Mother Jones piece from June that exposes some of their funding:

Certainly a lot of right-wingers. Some who gave to Clinton/ Obama/Biden, but mostly rightwing money. Trying to elevate Manchin -- Ugh.
