Just noticed this: “especially in the wake of the Arizona frozen embryo decision”

Did you mean Alabama?

When SCOTUS ‘return(ed) abortion to the states,’ I foolishly appended the words ‘instead of the Federal courts’ to that phrase. Now I see they meant they would return the question ‘states government instead of the medical profession.’ Anyone who votes red must accept the possibility of losing their own or a family member’s life to a pregnancy complication. Women will die and that is an acceptable risk for Republicans. Will it be you or me?

I can’t believe democrats are worried about repealing Comstock… like, seriously? Arizona just resurrected an 1864 zombie law, so people are aware and angry about this reality. That makes no sense to me.

I don’t love that the Ms. magazine article shapes the college decision like it’s a political stance of young people and not the threat that it is. If your daughter gets pregnant in one of those states her actual life is in danger. I won’t send my son to one of those states because of the off chance he could get someone pregnant. In an emergency situation you are not guaranteed to be able to cross state lines in time. My kids are staying in the Northeast where for now they are safe.

I will never understand why we live in a society in which Alexandra DeSanctis has a platform. Not only is she morally bankrupt, but she’s also an illogical idiot.

We need consent laws. See Joyce short Nina Lucas Fully informed willingly given, able (paraphrasing), parallel to this topic.

I can’t believe we can’t fight this based on religious (or lack there of) freedom.

Or the fact that a non existent being or one that is dying is being given greater rights over one that already is alive.

Petitions, amendments necessary. Meanwhile, corruption runs amok in the gang pushing this; maybe could also be used? RICO may finally catch up with DEA over criminalizing pain care.

We mapped cases where Emergency Hospitals are denying pregnant women healthcare ignoring EMTALA laws, which states have the worst prenatal care. Guess what? Three are Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Compare the positions on abortion rights for the candidates for Senate by swiping right / left on this interactive map.

So I know the anti-abortion movement doesn’t care if we die (and sometimes encourages that). But I’m starting to get really scared thinking that maybe doctors will choose a malpractice/wrongful death suit over potential jail time/public harassment. That they’ll just let us die. Hospital boards in anti-choice states are reportedly already exploring this and so doctors leave the state to avoid it. These laws and rulings have devastating consequences. Not a problem for these old men and old hags but for those of us of reproductive age it is especially chilling.

We know that the authoritarians within the GOP don't want to govern, but to rule. Their positions on guns, school privatization, civil liberties, and reproductive rights are opposed by a majority of Americans. They don't listen to their constituents, so who do they heed? Why, a handful of billionaires.

These wealthy folks are running a psych-op to create the mirage that regular folks endorse repressive policies. They do so by funding a myriad of faux grassroots orgs with names like Moms for Liberty, the Council for National Policy, Americans Defending Freedom. But the money comes from a few dark money donors.

Maurice Cunningham is a retired professor at UMass Boston. Late in his career he began tracing who was funding the privatization of public schools. Today he has posted: "Recommendations for Books You Absolutely Should Not Read". An excerpt:

"Here’s one that opened my eyes—Mary Ziegler’s 2022 Dollars for Life: The Anti-Abortion Movement and the Fall of the Republican Establishment. Guess what’s at the center of the story? M-O-N-E-Y. Much of the legal strategizing, organizing, and lawsuits that went into reversing Roe v. Wade came after anti-abortion activists realized they needed to gain control of the Supreme Court and to do that, spend without restriction. Ziegler argues that we are where we are today—Donald Trump and a far-right Republican Party, because of the nexus of abortion politics and M-O-N-E-Y."

I forwarded the Ms. Magazine article to my friend with a high school junior who is looking at colleges.

I have also been placing my plan C stickers in every bathroom I use. They are now in catholic hospitals, community hospitals, college campuses, coffee shops and Nordstrom. This act of information/defiance/rebellion is giving me great joy. I highly recommend! https://www.plancpills.org/stickers

Remind me......who gives a fuck what catholic clergy men say??

They are the LEAST qualified and MOST corrupt.

Go back to the rectory priest to watch your porn.

It's laughable they present the ballot language as bad and hurting women.......if they approached me in the mall saying "can you believe no parental consent or notification is required"..... I would respond "awesome where do I sign"

Worth reading again:

Karen Middleton, co-chair of Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom, called it a historic day:

“Coloradans deserve the freedom to make personal, private health-care decisions, and that right shouldn't depend on the source of their health insurance or who is in office. A right without access is a right in name only.”

It is becoming more and more apparent that Republican politicians, especially the men, are becoming increasingly hysterical and irrational. The more this is exposed the better it will be. Seriously. Lately, it seems like their main strategy is to antagonize as many voters as possible by acting out with minority positions. It is time for rational voters to work together to take back control of the House and prevent that psychopathic blatherskite from getting any where near the White House. While only Americans can vote, what is decided in November will be felt around the world.

Great job as always Colorado.

Montana: undemocratic Republican bullshit, more than usual though, complete fascism. People in Montana don't like being told what to do......it's the wild west for a reason. The Republican fascism may burn them. No tears from me.
