I love seeing these stats but my parents are excellent examples of how it doesn't matter. They're both pro-choice (in fact, they wanted me to have an abortion when I told them I was pregnant at 25.) But they have never voted for a politician who supports abortion rights. In fact, when Roe was overturned my mom texted me to say how sorry she was, and I couldn't help but reply, 'Why are you sorry? This is what you've been voting for literally my entire life.' She didn't have anything to say after that. But like...how do you not see the pointlessness of being pro-choice, and supporting bodily autonomy but voting for RON DESANTIS (they live in Florida, with all the other like-minded fools.)

I think our party system is so corrupt. I can only speak to how liberals were defined in the conservative world of my youth versus how they actually are. It’s an almost unbreakable set of prejudices. Maintaining those prejudices is easier than doing the work to change them. I’m sorry your parents are in that camp.

It's really depressing because they both should know better. My mom is always SO CLOSE to getting it but then just falls back into whatever garbage my father absorbs from Faux News or Drudge Report. Like when I was a single mom making $28k a year, my dad didn't understand why I didn't just "get" welfare and I was like "I don't qualify for it" and I had to show him the actual chart of what the federal poverty lines were. He still thought that the "real" reason I couldn't qualify is because I'm white (which honestly was probably one of his least offensive bullshit conservative ideas and I wish I were kidding.) Anyway I hope my mom realizes that her vote actually has consequences but she probably never will.

Katty Kay just talked about "abortion after birth" on Morning Joe and it was awesome. She said something like "abortion in the third trimester is very rare and it isn't something anybody wants. Nobody is saying they want abortions in the third trimester. It is an awful situation when anybody is considering it in the third trimester." that wasn't exactly what she said. I want to see if I can find a clip. I just liked that somebody argued against the "abortion after birth" or "abortion until birth" instead of just reiterating what these psychos say. I want journalists or interviewers to make a statement about it every time somebody says either of those things, because it isn't a thing. When women are considering abortion in the third trimester, it is a tragedy and they should not have to travel to other states and pay a fortune and struggle to find somebody to perform the procedure. The situation is hard enough. She should be able to make decisions and plans with her own doctor/midwife and family and not have to leave her home town or state.

I saw that as well. Joe Scarborough went to point out that abortion after birth is called “murder” and simply doesn’t happen. 👍🏻

The interesting catch about "return to the states," implying a return to the PEOPLE, is that those "people" are actually gerrymandered republican legislators creating dystopian laws against the rights of women under the color of representation.

Very encouraging to see the increasing support for abortion rights. In spite of the Republican lies and the mainstream media trying to bury the issue people are realizing how awful abortion bans are. And thank you Jessica for being such a forceful proponent of abortion rights! Your work has been amazing!

I know he doesn’t have much of a chance but Ramaswamy is talking about how to talk to voters and make them see they are “actually against abortion” could you cover a little of the crap he is spewing?

He's apparently a serial crap spewer. Per Google

“The climate change agenda is a hoax … The reality is more people are dying of bad climate change policies than they are of actual climate change.”

He totally is. He claims that because less people die it’s fine. Meaning the advanced weather warnings we have aren’t a factor at all. Or our advanced healthcare. That it’s actually safer now than it was 100yrs ago. My question was based on the fact republicans are trying anything to spin this and I wondered Jessica’s input on his arguments and if they have any chance of catching on

Did you hear about Clauser (born December 1, 1942, Pasadena, California, U.S.) American physicist who was awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize for Physics for his experiments with quantum entanglement 5 days ago denied climate change existed 🙄 🤔 To me, that's even more wtf.

'One third of Republicans believe abortion should be legal for any reason.' That would be scary for the Republican party IF it meant those voters were considering leaving the Republican party. But if they're not, if they're still Republicans, then it's just scary for the rest of us.
