A lot of us are hitting a pandemic wall right now, and if you’re anything like me you’re probably still reeling from the last four years. So let’s try something that folks seemed to like back when this was my food newsletter, Eat Me: Share one good thing that happened this week.
Soaked up the sun in Palm Springs (safely at an Airbnb) before coming back to sub zero temps in Minnesota. Still have that vacay glow and I'm milking it.
I'm starting a language teacher worker cooperative and we're 3-4 months away from being able to open for business. The right people have come along and I still can't believe we're doing this!
I started programming the coffee to brew in the morning before I get up. I stopped this kindness to myself a couple months ago and was grumpy every morning because of it.
I'm a HS teacher and we just had a really thought-provoking discussion in class about cancel culture, Morgan Wallen, AOC, among other things. The children are our future.
A child psychologist told me I'm doing a great job as a mother. I never realised how much I thought I wasn't and how much I needed to hear it until I did. Huge relief
I'm a therapist who has been helping a client on their journey to gender-affirming surgery. They were approved for surgery this week after over a year of waiting!
My bird feeder is finally getting some feathery friend traffic. It is right in my line of site from my work-from-home desk and I like seeing the birds!
I friggin' love snow, and I took a long walk around my neighborhood after the blizzard this past Monday and witnessed an entire family having a snowball fight. I also made (safe and distant) conversation with my neighbors (safely) as folks simultaneously dug out their cars. It was such a simple joyous thing to have human interaction like this after such a dark year.
I'm a college student and I'm completing an application for a ~paid~ summer internship with a repro justice org! It's my first ever application process to a position in my actual field of study and I'm really excited.

I started writing again. It feels good. It probably won’t lead to anything, and it’s not what I intended to write, but I’m just rolling with it.

I am shooting a TV show with Paul Rudd tomorrow!
I was assigned an essay commission!

My dog has made me belly laugh SO MANY TIMES this week. He's just the best.

My protocol for approved by the IRB!

My dad (a healthcare worker in his late 60s) got his first shot of the vaccine last weekend!
I planted four fruit trees. A promise to my grandchild that if I have anything to do with it, there will be a future.
