Bless you, my dear child. I can call you 'child' since I'm 75 and I do so in the sense that I want your personal suffering at dealing with all of this cruelty, dishonesty, hypocrisy, and faux-religion to be eased. You're carrying much of the burden for millions of people, mostly women, but men too: men who love women and don't want them to suffer. Thank you for going to Washington, D.C. and speaking to a group of mostly White, privileged, often ignorant and clueless men; it's worth doing because as we've seen in so many other situations, the consistency of truth-telling and the refusal to back away from that leads to change. Take care of yourself/remember the meme about the oxygen mask 1st on yourself and then on whoever else needs help with theirs...

Bravo! This old doc wishes the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association would publish your remarks. NEJM had an article a few months ago reassuring docs the laws aren’t as bad as they seem. You’ve shown they’re much worse. Docs need to organize pushback against this Republican plan to make docs participants in their war on women. Also, thanks for saying “Republicans” and not “politicians” or “legislators.” We know this is one side only. Next step, name names, starting with Ken Paxton.
